The Union negotiates agreements on employment, taxes, professional education and training, pension schemes and even insurance. The Union also acts as the administrator of the collective labour agreement for the sector. In this capacity, it fosters social dialogue between employer and trade union representatives. In order to support the activity of its members, the Union takes an active part in discussions on the industry’s economic future.
The Union is able to draw on a network of expert partners and legal consultants tasked with providing information to its members in connection with labour law, company law (competition law, commercial law, patent rights, etc.), tax law and taxation of precious metals, customs legislation and any other social and legal questions. It carries out prospective studies of the sector on behalf of its members to support the development of economic models.
The UFBJOP negotiates social agreements with the French joint national commission for employment (CPNE) with regard to salaries, professional classifications, social rules and professional education and training.
The regulations which govern the profession are listed in the UFBJOP's files. The documents are freely available for consultation and our teams are ready to listen and answer any questions you might have in connection with warranties, customs issues, exports, etc.
Created in 2003 by the Union and its partners, the Observatoire de Sûreté de l’Horlogerie-Bijouterie (watchmaking and jewellery security watchdog) regularly produces a record of actions taken by the public authorities and of industry security initiatives, while also proposing new objectives. Several times a year, the Observatoire and the Préfecture de Police organise events and publish documents aimed at increasing awareness in the profession with regard to security-related developments.

The Union Française de la Bijouterie, Joaillerie, Orfèvrerie, des Pierres & des Perles (UFBJOP) organises intra-professional meetings within the industry. Capitalising on its capacity for organising prestigious events for professionals within its own facilities, the Union hosts half-day events for businesses within the trade, with a view to fostering and encouraging relations while providing tangible support for the development of collaborative efforts within as little time as possible.
